Adoptable Animals

 . Reese .
 . Reese .
  • Australian Cattle Dog / Blue Heeler
  • Spayed/Neutered
  • Up-to-date with routine shots
Reese came into our care after her owner passed away. Unfortunately, we did not receive much information on her past. We did learn she has lived in the company of other dogs but was kenneled separately at night. We have found her to do well with male dogs here at the shelter although she tends to "heel" them a bit and be a tad bossy. For this reason, we don't think she should be placed in a home with other female dogs. Reese is very loving and out-going and seems to like people of all ages! She is about 5 years old and weighs 42 pounds. Her adoption fee of $175.00 includes spay, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

Oh, how we love this gentle, playful boy! Sitka is handsome and sweet. He loves to play chase with us and is known to get the "zoomies" when ready to play! He is easy-going with the dogs he has met here and appears to ignore cats. Sitka will need an owner who is willing to keep a close eye on his eating habits. He tends to gulp his food which causes him to cough and sometimes vomit. We find feeding him several meals throughout the day in a slow feeder bowl helps greatly. At times, he has a produced a "reverse sneeze" which can trigger a coughing fit. Several veterinarians have examined Sitka and no cause has been discovered. This big goof ball adores being petted and receiving loving attention. At about 6 years old and 65 pounds, he just might be the bed hog you've been looking for! We do not ship dogs nor do we adopt dogs to homes where they will live as outside dogs. Sitka's adoption fee of $175.00 includes his neuter, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

  • Prefers home without cats
Let's get to know Mr. Dean! Handsome? Check! Great with people? Check! Great with dogs? Check! Active? Check! What's not to love?? Well, there are two boxes Dean does not check. He is not fond of cats and he he is VERY fond of taking himself out for walks! He cannot be left outside for long periods of time (even in a fenced yard) or he will find a way to enjoy the further regions of his neighborhood! We think he may have some Husky wanderlust in his DNA. He does well on leashed walks and would adore an active life involving hiking, running, and camping with his new people. We think Dean is about 1 1/2 -2 years old and he weighs 70 pounds. His adoption fee of $175.00 includes neuter, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

  • Boxer
  • Spayed/Neutered

Chutney is about 5-6 months old and a real sweetpea! He ADORES playing with other pups and bigger dogs. He is very affectionate and out-going and is ready to learn all about being part of a family. He will need further training to be completely house-trained and like all puppies, he will need a patient consistent owner who can give him lots of outlets for exercise and activity. Are you really ready for all the work in raising a puppy? Please research POSITIVE training techniques before applying to adopt. We care very much about your application answers and they are reviewed for completeness and the best match. The adoption fee of $275 includes neuter, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, 30 days of pet health insurance, puppy book, and engraved ID tag.

 . Gerard . . Gerard .
  • Border Collie
  • Spayed/Neutered
  • Up-to-date with routine shots
This handsome boy is Gerard! He is about 3-4 months old and currently weighs about 25 pounds. He came in with a litter pf pups that did not get a lot of early socialization with humans. He has come a long way in trusting us and being more outgoing, but will need continued socialization to become a confident adult dog. Love is a great start but with shy animals it requires a bigger commitment than just love. We will help you with the steps to encourage a shy pup like Gerard. We feel a quieter home without active children, and definitely another dog in the home would be best for Gerard and he LOVES to play in water!. Please research POSITIVE training techniques before applying to adopt. Your application answers very much and will be reviewed. This little guy needs a patient, committed adopter to help him succeed. Could that be you? The adoption fee of $275 includes his neuter, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

O'rion is a 2 year old Boxer mix with tons of spunk! He has done well with most female dogs he has met here.He LOVES to play ball and "keep away." This guy seems to easily meet people but can be nervous at first with men and especially men wearing hats. He will be meeting the cat soon! Please research POSITIVE training techniques before applying to adopt. We care very much about your application answers and they are reviewed for completeness and the best match. The adoption fee of $175 includes spay/neuter, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

  • Husky
  • Spayed/Neutered
  • Up-to-date with routine shots
Seka came to us an owner surrender due to the family not being home much. They felt it would be better for Seka to have an active lifestyle which they could not provide. Seka is about 4 years old and weighs 64 pounds. Her typical husky behaviors are howling and "talking", shedding, and not being allowed off-leash. Her not so typical husky behaviors include being ok with the cat in her home, not being destructive when left alone, being calm indoors, and not being an escape artist. Seka would love to hike, camp, run, and go on long walks. She can be a puller on leash so a harness is best for walks. Here at the shelter her best friend is a male husky named Jetzom! The adoption fee of $200 includes spay, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

  • Mixed Breed

  • Up-to-date with routine shots
Gypsy came in as an owner surrender with her friend Diesel. Gypsy is about 5 years old and is a true mixed breed. Gypsy is a bit overweight and needs a diet but it is so hard to say no to her puppy face! She has lived with kids and does best with older kids over 10. She chases cats in play but has not harmed one. She tends to "police" other dogs that play too rowdy and she will bark to let them know how she feels about it! She is a bit slow to adjust to new situations, however, with treats and time she is very friendly and loves a snuggle! Gypsy has only lived with a male dog. The adoption fee of $175 includes spay/neuter, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, 30 days of pet health insurance, puppy book, and engraved ID tag.

Diesel was originally adopted from us at about 1 year old and was returned due to his owner moving. He has lived with another dog and a cat. He has a tendency to want to chase cats if they run but will not hurt them. He has lived with kids and did great. Diesel can be a bit of a barker if bored or wanting attention. He is very well mannered and knows sit and lay down. Diesel has been with a female dog and has done fine, however, we would not recommend a home with a male dog in it. The adoption fee of $175 includes spay/neuter, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, 30 days of pet health insurance, puppy book, and engraved ID tag.

  • Up-to-date with routine shots
PollyAnna came to us as a stray that was never claimed by an owner. Polly is about one year old and weighs 39 pounds. She wants to be by your side, hang out on the couch or under the covers! She also wants to be active and PLAY! She was adopted and returned because she played too roughly with the 4 year old in the home. She was more respectful to the 8 year old so we recommend children in her new home be 8 or older. She went to work with the previous owner and loved meeting people. She has done well with male dogs here . We suspect she may have Kelpie in the mix and possibly Bull Terrier. She will need lots of things to chew in her new home or she might chew whatever she finds! Please research POSITIVE training techniques before applying to adopt. We care very much about your application answers and they are reviewed for completeness and the best match. The adoption fee of $175 includes spay, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

Keebler came to us as an owner surrender when the owner could no longer care for him. Keebler is a heeler X that is about 8 months old. His owner didn't give us much information on him but we know he knows the command "sit". He can be a bit naughty if left alone in the house(gets into the trash, tears stuff up), so crating him would help. He is a very sweet boy that loves to be petted! He has met a polite male dog and did just fine and loves female dogs! Keebler has not yet met a cat! Please research POSITIVE training techniques before applying to adopt. We care very much about your application answers and they are reviewed for completeness and the best match. Hi there! My name is St. Nick! I'm a holly jolly fella that came in as a stray and I was never claimed by an owner. I'm about 2 years old and I weigh around 60lbs. I'm a heeler mix of sorts but honestly I'm very mixed breed. I'm a gentle soul that would love polite children and loving parents that would love for me to cuddle on their bed! I try to keep my kennel very clean but sometimes I have an accident. I would love a hoo-man that has time to pet me and love because I LOVE SNUGGLES! I came in with my pal Santa's Helper and she is the best! I truly enjoy her company! I have not met the office cat yet and I will update soon! The adoption fee of $200 includes spay/neuter, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

No wonder you stopped to look at this stunning boy! Doobie is such a handsome example of a Doberman. At about 2 years old, he currently weighs 74 pounds and could actually stand to gain another 5. He was an owner surrender due to older male dogs in the home not being a good fit for Doobie, nor he with them. He lived with adults and children and is reported to have especially loved the kids. He likes to sit in the front seat on car rides and occasionally bark hello to cows! We are told he is a couch potato once he gets his exercise needs met. This is one strong guy. He knows basic commands and is not food aggressive. Doobie loves a good game of fetch! He had free run of his previous home and used a dog door to go outside. Pupdate - Doobie loves playtime with female dogs and is even good with males dog, but prefers not to live with male dogs. He is a very sweet dog and he absolutely loves children. Doobie is not a mix, he is a purebred Doberman that never had his ears cropped. Doobie's adoption fee of $300 includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccines, 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

Paisley and Amelia came into our care as owner surrenders. The owners felt they had more dogs than they could care for. Unfortunately, these two sisters lived as outside dogs so will need patient guidance in house training and indoor manners. They may even be hesitant to come inside at first since this was off limits to them previously. They both were around other dogs and small children and did well. Paisley likes to learn new things and is treat-motivated. She is very happy to meet new people. In her previous home, we were told that Amelia could be food aggressive toward other dogs in the home. In a new home, she should be fed while crated or in another room to set up her up for success. No cats in the home for either girl, please. They are just too tempting to chase. They both enjoy playing with stuffed animals and being close to their people. There will be a lot for these girls to learn about like being indoors, riding in a car, and truly being part of a family. Are you patient? If you give them time, these girls will reward you over and over for being their new best friends. Potential dog roommates should meet here at the shelter. The adoption fee of $200 for either girl includes spay, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

  • Prefers home without dogs
Miss Reena is about 1 year old and a trim 39 pounds. She has an adorable bobbed tail and kind eyes. Reena is one of those dogs that would probably prefer to be the only animal in her home. We think she could tolerate dogs around her on walks but wouldn't want them in her space or in her castle! She has displayed some barrier frustration when seeing new people through a kennel but once she meets people out of the kennel, she is happy and loving, especially with yummy treats. We feel she would do best in a quieter home without a lot of visitors and without young children. (She has not shown aggression toward children but we always want safety first). Perhaps a retired single person or couple that just wants a loving companion to take on walks and have a couch buddy. Reena loves Tom Cruise!! Reena's adoption fee is $175 and includes spay, microchip, 30-day trial pet health insurance, a free vet visit, an adoption packet and a custom engraved ID tag.

Margie was an owner surrender due to their having too many dogs to care for. She lived with the same family all her life. They tell us she is great with kids (at least school-aged due to her size and energy) and new people. She lived outdoors with her mom dog and they got into arguments over food. (Both lived outdoors/both unspayed at that time) .She might do best with a male dog in her new home. She likes balls and ropes and having attention. The owners had only nice things to say about this sweet girl. She weighs 65 pounds and is a little over one year old. She walks best on a harness because she be a puller on leash. We really like this sweetpea and think you will too! Margie has a crush on Tom Cruise! PUPDATE- Margie is so great with so many of our dogs here at the shelter, she really is a staple in playgroups and she even can put up with some of our more rambunctious boys here! Her adoption fee of $175.00 includes her spay, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

Gogurt is a mixed breed girl of about 2 years. She came to us as a stray so we have no past history. Here at the shelter, she has been very friendly with other dogs (all males so far), and can handle dogs with a bold play style. She should meet potential roommates here at the shelter before adoption. She is affectionate and out-going and would greatly enjoy being a lap dog! We love her bubbly personality and think you will too! Gogurt's adoption fee of $175.00 includes her spay, current vaccines, free vet visit, 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

Loomis came to us as a transfer from Burns, where he was found as a stray. He is a 3.5 year old pointer/hound mix, we think, but there could be more breeds in the mix! He has been with female dogs and does OK but is still learning about appropriate play rather than overwhelming playmates. He is learning more every day! This guy is incredibly friendly and loves attention but absolutely needs an active home to keep his mind and body busy. He needs to be fed separately from other dogs in the home as he has tendencies to guard food and toys. He might enjoy being an only dog in the home! Pupdate - Loomis met the trainer today and showed that he is indeed a very friendly boy. He will need work on walking nicely on leash, because he does try to pull where he wants to go. He had a great playgroup with several female dogs today, and one of the girls was a bit rude, and he totally deferred and did not posture back to her at all. He's a really likable guy with a beautiful coat color, but please only train him with force-free methods. He does not deserve harsh corrections and painful punishment for acting like a dog! He has that lovely "bay" like a hound dog, even though he looks more Pointer. The adoption fee of $200 includes neuter, microchip, current vaccines, free vet visit, 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

Tilly was an owner surrender that was previously adopted from us. She is a wonderful 10 month old mixed breed female with a LOT of energy. Tilly was brought back because she was having problems getting along with another older female dog in the house. She loves to play and LOVES her people. She is fantastic with ALL livestock and has even herded goats! If you want a good farm girl that can live indoors Tilly is your girl!!! Please research POSITIVE training techniques before applying to adopt. We DO evaluate your answers on your application to be sure of a good fit. We do not ship animals nor do we adopt them into homes where they will spend their lives as outside dogs. PUPDATE: Tilly has a crush on Tom Cruise here at the shelter!
