We are pleased to introduce Whitney Houston! This sweet girl is only about one year old and pretty as a picture. She came to us as a stray with a male dog and we are just getting to know her. She has such kind eyes and is a gentle soul. She is currently growing her hair back in after being treated for mange. She is learning how to walk on leash and would really blossom with a patient, gentle owner. Whitney can be met and placed on hold but not go home until Tuesday, the 29th. Her adoption fee of $200 includes her spay, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

Bubba Gump came to us as a stray so we have no history on this guy. So far at the shelter, he has been friendly and kind. He prefers female dogs and can be reactive toward male dogs when he is in an outdoor play yard. He walks well on leash and keeps his kennel tidy. No kitties for Bubba, please. We will post more as we get to know this handsome fella. He will be neutered on 10/15 and could go home the next day. His adoption fee of $150.00 includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccines, 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

This little "pocket pitty" makes up for her size with a BIG personality! Even at only 35 pounds, she can pull like a freight train and walks best on a harness. She loves people and attention. We haven't introduced her to many dogs, but those she has met, we have observed her exhibiting dominant and somewhat rude behaviors. We will continue trying to find her a playmate but she may well prefer to be an only dog in her new home. No cats for this gal, please. We estimate her to be 4-5 years old. Very cute but very opinionated, are you up for the challenge of this Thingamajig?! She will be spayed October 23rd and could go home the following day. Her adoption fee of $175.00 includes spay, microchip, current vaccines, free vet visit, 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

Gogurt is a mixed breed girl of about 2 years. She came to us as a stray so we have no past history. Here at the shelter, she has been very friendly with other dogs (all males so far). She should meet potential roommates here at the shelter before adoption. She is affectionate and out-going and would greatly enjoy being a lap dog! We love her bubbly personality and think you will too! Gogurt's adoption fee of $175.00 includes her spay, current vaccines, free vet visit, 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

Yachi has come such a long way! He started as a very scared guy, totally overwhelmed here at the shelter to where he is now; a sweet boy seeking out affection! We think he still might be stressed having young children in his new home and may need a quieter setting without a lot of home traffic. He gets along with other dogs he has met but a meet and greet here with potential roommates would be best. We think he has previously lived as a primarily outdoor dog so he may need a refresher on house-training. We estimate Yachi to be about 5 years old. A calm, patient owner will see this beautiful boy continue to blossom into the great companion he was meant to be. His adoption fee of $300 includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccines, free veterinary visit, 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

This beautiful girl is Zia, aka Puptart! She is about 7 months old and ready for an active life with her new family. She loves to meet people and other dogs. She will need a sturdy playmate in her new home since she really likes to wrestle and nip with dogs in play. She is house-trained and loves to play chase, squeaky toys, and ropes. If left alone for more than 2 hours, she might decide to entertain herself with household items like puppies often do! Zia is in a foster home currently so interested folks should call the shelter in advance of a visit to meet her. Her adoption fee of $275 includes her spay, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

This guy is incredibly friendly and loves attention but absolutely needs an active home! Come and meet Mr. Loomis today! The adoption fee of $250 includes neuter, microchip, current vaccines, free vet visit, 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

Tilly was an owner surrender that was previously adopted from us. She is a wonderful 10 month old mixed breed female with a LOT of energy. Tilly was brought back because she was having problems getting along with another older female dog in the house. She loves to play and LOVES her people, she is fantastic with ALL livestock and even had herded goats! If you want a good farm girl that can live indoors Tilly is your girl!!! Please research POSITIVE training techniques before applying to adopt. We DO evaluate your answers on your application to be sure of a good fit. We do not ship animals nor do we adopt them into homes where they will spend their lives as outside dogs. Are you ready for the work of gently raising a puppy to adulthood? It is a challenge but a very rewarding one for sure! The adoption fee of $250 includes spay, microchip, current vaccines, free vet visit, 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

Marz came to us as a result of a court case. He is 4 years old and he is shy and nervous around us. When another dog comes by, he livens up so we think a home with a great balanced dog would be perfect! Marz is going to be a "project dog" that will require patient, consistent, routine/handling and force-free training so that he can trust humans and strangers. He may never be a social butterfly, but he does deserve a good home inside a calm home. Pupdate - being inside a building is new to Marz, so he is making the adjustments. He is much more lively outside, and especially around another dog. Marz' adoption fee is $300 and includes neuter, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, 30 days free pet health insurance, and custom engraved ID tag.

Fontaine came to us as a stray and wasnt claimed by an owner. She is 2 years old, and initially she was shy and overwhelmed, but given where she was found, we can understand that she may not have had an easy start in life. Staff have been very loving and patient, and she is now way more outgoing, and walking on leash! She is a super affectionate dog, and she leans in for petting and attention. She gives solicitous licks to the chin, and the more petting, the better! Fontaine is somewhat fence reactive towards passing dogs, so we are working with her on greeting and playing with other dogs. She had a playgroup with a great patient male, and at first she was a bit over-bearing with him, mounting him, but when given a noise distraction, she backed off and started to interact calmly. By the end of the playtime, she was relaxed and just hanging out with Pongo. Fontaine is a bit handshy and she doesnt seem to have been taught any basic cues, but she loves treats, and just needs to be shown force-free, that good things happen when she sits instead of jumps, and how life can be good and safe. As you can see in her photos, she is in love with one of our staff members, thats a great sign that she wants to bond! Fontaine's adoption fee is $175 and includes spay, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, 30 days free pet health insurance, and custom engraved ID tag.

Izzy and her furry roommate Lotto came to us as owner surrenders. The owner said she needed to move and couldnt take the dogs with her, but also that she was working 12 hours a day and the dogs were inside with no access to a yard. She is a bit sad at all the recent changes, and she hasnt really interacted with other dogs besides Lotto, but she shows no aggression toward us. She chooses to come forward and near us, although we can see the sadness in her eyes. Her owner had both dogs for 4 years and never took them to a vet. Give her time, this sweetheart deserves a much better life! We think that she is between 7-8 years old. Pupdate - Izzy is definitely more relaxed and she's much more outgoing and happy. She's loving the yummy treats, and continues to make big progress! She easily meets new dogs, she is enjoying petting and affection, and she is doing her best to hold her potty until she gets outside. She is much cuter than her photos! Izzy should probably not have unsupervised time around livestock. She thinks they are fun to bark at! Izzy's adoption fee is $125 and includes spay, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, 30 days free pet health insurance, and custom engraved ID tag.

Ziggy was originally adopted from us 2 years ago as a pup, but was returned recently because he "didnt like going to the dog park." Ziggy loves other dogs, and does fantastic in smaller playgroups, but he doesn't enjoy some of the rude and bossy male dogs at the dog park. (We say dont take him, then, but the owners insisted on it because their other dogs liked to go.). Ziggy is housetrained, he is crate trained, and the only things hes scared of is smoke alarms and fireworks. Ziggy will guard his food from other dogs, but a simple fix for that is to feed them separately! Ziggy might climb a fence if he is left alone in a yard, so secure fencing when he cant be with you is a good idea. He knows all his basic commands and he is good on a leash. Ziggy is definitely a mixed breed dog and there is no telling what would come up on a dna test. He's got brindle speckles on his legs and some beautiful markings. It was hard to get a good photo of him because he was eager to get treats and petting! Ziggy's adoption fee is $200 and includes neuter, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, 30 days free pet health insurance, and custom engraved ID tag.

Tater and his sister Tiggy, were given away to someone that brought them both to us to find new homes. They are still pups, at about 6 months old, and are doing well on Tater was a returned adoptee because his owners had to move and couldnt find a place that would accept his size and breed. They also wanted Tater to go to dog parks, but dog parks just weren't his thing. He is particular about his playmates, nothing wrong with that, We will update his behavior profile after we have him in some playgroups, because word is he was picky about playmates. Tater's adoption fee is $175 and includes neuter, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, 30 days free pet health insurance, and custom engraved ID tag.
