PLEASE FILL OUT AN APPLICATION FOR ADOPTION! Please do not call the shelter, until you have completed an application and are ready to make an apt for a meet and greet. Inquiries will not be answered at this time. Sasha came to us as a stray that was found in the highway with 2 small buddies. She seems to love small dogs however, she is particular about large dogs. She seems to prefer calm and collected dogs. Terminator is her best buddy as they were found together. Sasha is about 2 years old and has had no basic training. She does not have the best manners but we are slowly working on it. Sasha has not met kids yet so we are unsure of how she would do. Young kids under ten would not be a good idea due to her jumping up. This beauty has potential and she desires all the cuddles and pets someone can give! PLEASE FILL OUT AN APPLICATION FOR ADOPTION! Please do not call the shelter, until you have completed an application and are ready to make an apt for a meet and greet. Inquiries will not be answered at this time. Terminator came to us as a stray with 2 other dogs. He was adopted out and brought back due to a couple of issues in the house. This little guy needs a home with NO cats and probably a female dog home only. Terminator may have experienced some past trauma as he has some weird quirks. He can be sensitive to new people putting a collar on him or a harness and may try to nip. Having said that he openly lets us handle him at the shelter with no problems. We use slow, calm motions with him and he has never tried to nip us. We will gladly send him home already in a collar and a harness so that he only experiences the best things with his new people. He is a very needy dog that needs his people. His ideal adopter would be retired, or stay home for work. He loves to go with his favorite people! Terminator will do best in a house with no kids due to his oddities. He did meet a 10 year old boy who is always here at the shelter and he did seek out loves and pets. We just fill that ideally his world will be happy with no kids. He has lived with other dogs but would rather not share his space with a male. He has had a grooming since his profile pictures. Please research POSITIVE training techniques before applying to adopt. We care very much about your application answers and they are reviewed for completeness and the best match. PLEASE FILL OUT AN APPLICATION FOR ADOPTION! Please do not call the shelter, until you have completed an application and are ready to make an apt for a meet and greet. Inquiries will not be answered at this time. TJ is a sweet, silly, rough and tumble guy that is about 2 years old. He clocks in at 79lbs but thinks of himself as a lapdog. He has a ton of energy and loves to spend the day playing in the yard and getting lots of belly rubs. Heis certainly a big strong fella and needs an owner that can handle a big dog. He can be dog selective so he is not a dog park dog. He will need a home without cats as he tends to be overly prey driven. Older kids may be best as T.J. doesn't realize his size. PLEASE FILL OUT AN APPLICATION FOR ADOPTION! Please do not call the shelter, until you have completed an application and are ready to make an apt for a meet and greet. Inquiries will not be answered at this time. Please meet Graham! Graham is a 9 year old (almost 10) year old owner surrender. Graham is a bit of an oddity. When he loves his people, he truly loves his people, however, he has a hard time trusting new people. He seems to prefer taller men over anyone else however, he does love the ladies that work here as well. He has formed relationships with everyone here. He still wants to run and play and be silly and doesn't mind a nice female dog in his environment. He is an older guy so he moves a little slower and a little stiffer but he is such a wonderful guy. He needs to not have kids in his home as they stress him out. A home with light foot traffic would be best. Please consider adopting this beautiful older fella! PLEASE FILL OUT AN APPLICATION FOR ADOPTION! Please do not call the shelter, until you have completed an application and are ready to make an apt for a meet and greet. Inquiries will not be answered at this time. Rain will remain with her family until she can be placed in an appropriate home that fits her needs! She is not for a first time dog owner. Here is what her current owner has to say about her! 1. DEAF/doesn’t respond to most correction. Rain really needs someone with time and patience to work with her. Very high prey drive, once locked onto a target she’s difficult to distract. 2. Likes to choose to ignore commands but has the drive to learn 3. Very hand shy (has never been hit in our home, we are unsure about her previous home. She doesn’t like brooms or fast hand movements. Hates the vacuum) 4. Slight food guarding with other dog in the house. Never showed any reactivity towards person taking food away though 5. Absolutely NO CATS as her prey drive is very high. No young kids. (13+ fine) 7. No small dogs or small livestock such as rabbits, chickens etc. 8. Possibly ok with large dog (lived with large male GSD and did fine, but has very alpha personality so would depend on other dog) 9. Loves to play with big dogs she likes but can get a bit intense and seem aggressive in her play style. 10. Will fence fight relentlessly (always checks to see if other dog is there when let outside) 11. Digs a lot when she’s bored (needs secure yard/plenty of activities. I think she would highly benefit as a companion animal as she thrives off of being with her people) 12. Chews/shreds things heavily when bored (ex. Chewed food bowl, backyard hose, chair legs, shredded blanket in kennel... etc) 13. Weird about going through doors. 14. Knows how to sit with hand signal or for food/treats 15. Needs to learn leash manners, (she has close to none) Wants to be head of the “pack” and pulls horribly. 16. Leash reactive with other dogs (sometimes once let off leash she’s fine. It depends) 17. Very calm and well-mannered when indoors as long as she has people around. 18. Frantic when crated initially, but will calm down and curl up to sleep eventually. (A toy to chew helps her calm down) 19. Loves car rides but does better restrained because she wants to “help” you drive 20. LOVES water/snow 21. Has occasionally peed indoors to mark her territory, otherwise completely house trained. 22. Is used to being crated at night, but will also happily sleep inside on a bed. 23. Really likes carrots/ enjoys whole large carrot to chew 24. Enjoys hard chew toys/hooves/antlers. (Good way to keep her happy and entertained when she can’t be supervised so she doesn’t chew other things) Please research POSITIVE training techniques before applying to adopt. PLEASE FILL OUT AN APPLICATION FOR ADOPTION! Please do not call the shelter, until you have completed an application and are ready to make an apt for a meet and greet. Inquiries will not be answered at this time. Mongo is an older fella that came to us in very poor condition. He was mangy, emaciated and have wounds all over his body. We estimate him to be around 5-6 years old. Life has not been kind to this boy, and he really has never had real love until reaching our shelter. He has run as a wild dog most of his life. Upon coming into our facility he really wanted nothing to do with people and did not trust us at all. He has many skin allergies and requires to be on a special diet that can be a bit costly per month. We will supply you with the first bit of food for him. He gets sore from time to time and will need an anti-inflammatory to help ease the pain some days. Mongo has really decided to trust us and he wants nothing more now than to be with his person. He does well with female dogs, he does not really interact with them but he can co-exist peacefully. No small animals or male dogs for Mongo. If you think you have the right home for Mongo please fill out an application. We truly want him to go to the best home that can afford his medical/food needs on a monthly basis. We know he can show you his big heart if given the chance. (His favorite thing to do is sleep on warm fuzzy blankets on his bed) He LOVES naps! Please research POSITIVE training techniques before applying to adopt. We care very much about your application answers and they are reviewed for completeness and the best match. Please fill out an application on the included link: https://threerivershs.org/adoption-app-2/ The adoption fee of $175 includes spay/neuter, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, 30 days of pet health insurance, puppy book, and engraved ID tag. We think he is about 1.5 years old and currently weighs 61 pounds. He may be a mix of many breeds including Cattle dog and many more! If living with another dog, a female would be best for Big D rather than another male dog. He is very affectionate and loves being petted. He still has some puppy behaviors like using his mouth in play, so any kids in his new home should be older. He is good on leash and keeps his kennel clean. He would enjoy an active life with his new family. No cats, please. Gary
GaryGaryGaryGary
  • Pit Bull Terrier

Gary was brought in as a stray and wasnt claimed by an owner. He is about 4 years old and he loves treats. Gary can be both friendly and affectionate, and yet sometime unfocused and disinterested in what the human end of the leash is asking him to do. He pulls on leash, he jumps up, he can be gently mouthy but he does know how to sit on cue. He is a big dork and he probably has had very little structure and expectations placed on him. He doesn't have a great respect of boundaries, but he means no harm. He will bark at us for attention when he is in his kennel, but when taken outside, just wants to go where he wants to go. He met a very playful and friendly female dog and did very well with her. He presents as a bit of a challenge due to his "pulling has always worked for me" behavior, but can definitely learn in the right environment. We also believe we will see a nice change in focus and behavior once he is neutered! Gary's adoption fee is $150 and includes neuter, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, 30 days free pet health insurance, and custom engraved ID tag. View full description »
